Sat on the edge of the Jewellery Quarter, The Wolf is a nirvana for people who like crafty pints and creative décor. The perfect mismatch styling- particularly with the animal themed pump handles give the venue a very “Alice in Wonderland” vibe. This is a place that certainly does carry the risk of making you late, for a very important date!
The bar offers seemingly unlimited colourful cans of craft beers and also features plentiful spirits and wines for the less ale-orientated drinker.
The guys at The Wolf not only stock delicious drinks but the light lunch menu that was on offer during my visit offers much more than the usual ancient jar of pickled eggs.
From a sausage roll with a saucy side of ketchup, to a platter of cheese and meats available in small, medium and large make this a great place to enjoy group lunchin’ or a solitary snack.
During my visit we got the chance to experience one of the venues regular “tap take-overs” featuring IPA’s, stouts and ales from the Mad Hatter Brewing Company. I chose a Pale “Lick Face” ale and my boyfriend a “Penny Lane Pale. Both had a light, hoppy taste and without any bitter after taste and the fun names definitely helped!
Unfortunately we didn’t get chance to meet the brewer, as we had to leave but it was a great place to enjoy an afternoon ale and if I ever go into a bar and see some of Mad Hatter’s finest on offer I know what I’ll be ordering!
